Our Mission
The YWCA of Greater Portland is dedicated to changing lives
by empowering women and their families to achieve
safety, opportunity, and independence.

What We Do
The YWCA provides life-changing social services for women,
children and families from all walks — and stages — of life, empowering, guiding and liberating them to attain safety, opportunity and independence through four critical integrated service areas: Domestic Violence Services,
Transitional Services, Senior Services and Youth Services.
Our core programs link across these four integrated service areas to provide housing, life skills, and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence and their children as well as women transitioning from incarceration. We also support seniors by providing resources which allow them to maintain their independence, and prepare children to thrive in today’s multicultural world through innovative camp and educational programs.
The YWCA, as a national organization, is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
